The Essence Of Music
Who in the world doesn't like music. Music is an integral part of everyone's life, knowingly or unknowlingly music has acted as an influence on people's life. In the background of our lives there is a always a background music which is being played which we never notice such as the soothing sound of the wind, the rhythm of the train, the horns of the vehicles,Pitpat of the rain these all some where or other always create a music and rhythm which always go unnoticed. You will be now thinking in your mind "Oh yes! this is true". Even I was unaware of this and this depth of thinking about music only came after I started listening to RD Burman songs. Yes right RD Burman fondly know as Pancham da the legendary Music Composer actually an complete all rounder. He also played a role of a singer, arranger, lyricist and also a musician amazing right? Now as you are with me on this Journey I'll be sharing with you some amazing anecdotes about music and Pancham da.
One more interesting thing the picture which is being mentioned down here is of a LONG PLAY(LP) played on a gramophone, long play also known as Vinyl is now obsolete but is a vintage symbol and has a cult status.LP's are like huge discs in which music is stored which you need to place on the gramophone. The gramophone then reads the disc and the music starts playing. After gramophones the next cult thing which came in market were the Cassettes leaving behind gramophones. I believe everyone has atleast seen a cassette. I am sure it always makes a person from the 90's nostalgic after hearing about the word CASSETTE,then came compact discs fondly known as CD's and after that there was no stopping a new thing or a gadget popped up year after year due to technology and science and now after all Ipod's, walkmans, mp3 etc music has finally reached on streaming platforms like Gaana and Spotify with boring and interrupting ads with the new trend of podcasts. The moral is after so much of evolution and progress when you hear a RD Burman (Pancham) song on any of the above mentioned old or new medium/Platform it still sounds the same and refreshing it doesn't even sound like it is an old song. That's the beauty of the song and the magic of Pancham, Interesting isn't it? For all the freshers and budding listeners of pancham da I'll be posting a new song for you guys everytime i write a blog so Stay Tuned Folks!! https://youtu.be/lTgbq5vXJD8 click on the link to listen to the song and yes listen to it very carefully how pancham da used all the instruments this song is from the movie Teesri Manzil which released in the year 1966.
